Pantomime.

Paul began his affair with pantomime in 1982 when he was Musical Director and arranger on ‘Dick Whittington’ starring Esther Rantzen in Bognor Regis. He went on to work with the Thorndike Theatre in Leatherhead with Roger Clissold, Millfield Theatre in Jack and the Beanstalk (written by Nigel Lythgoe and directed by Bonnie Lythgoe) and then was twice Musical Director for Christopher Lillicrap’s Company ‘The Proper Pantomime Company’ at the Oxford Playhouse, and most recently for ‘That’s Entertainment Productions’.

“...Paul Knight provides something for everyone without having to pander to showbiz scalp-hunting...” FT.com

"Paul Knight's Oxford shows are the only pantomimes I volunteer for at this time of year..." Financial Times

“... spectacular. Wittier than most pantomimes. Versace would swoon at the cossies. Five crackers.....” The Guardian

With director Michelle Hardy and the Artistic Directors Tish Francis and Hedda Beeby, Paul authored seven pantomimes for the Oxford Playhouse. They are ‘Dick Whittington’, ‘Mother Goose’, Jack and the Beanstalk’ (twice!) ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘Puss in Boots’, and ‘Aladdin’. Each show is two acts and runs 2 hours and 15mins.

For Golden Theatre Paul created three 70 minute one act pantomimes which played to packed houses at The Bulls Head in Barnes. These pantomimes are ‘Dick Whittington’, ‘Mother Goose’ and ‘Aladdin’.

All Paul’s pantomimes are fast fun packed stories which retain all the classic elements of pantomime with witty wordplay, silly slapstick and enough singing, dancing, romance mystery and excitement to entertain audiences of all ages. These pantomimes are ‘Dick Whittington’, ‘Mother Goose’ and ‘Aladdin’.

All Paul’s pantomime scripts are available to licence.
